Due to Easton's delayed start of school this year, Read & Bead has been extended through Saturday, September 12! We all have a lot of feelings about school starting this year... so keep yourselves busy (and distracted!) with more books! Encourage your kids to continue logging their time and earning beads for their summer necklaces. Children can log reading time through September 12, and can pick up their beads through the following week, Saturday, September 19.
Remember that you can now come into the library to pick up books you've put on hold or to do some limited browsing. You can always ask for recommendations from the reference or children's librarians in person or over the phone, so if you're out of good reads - just ask! You can also contact the Children's Room at kids@amesfreelibrary.org.
Make good use of this time - this extended end date gives you two more weeks to keep reading! Even if you haven't gotten started with summer reading yet - it's not too late! Take advantage of this time to get some stories in before you go back to school. Kids of any age can earn beads for as little as 15 minutes of reading!
PS: The program has been extended for teens and adults too, so keep reading and entering raffles!
