This summer, get ready to Read, Renew, Repeat with the Ames Free Library! We have reading programs and events for all ages throughout the summer. This year's program runs through Wednesday, August 28.
Kids ages 0 through 12 can join our popular Read & Bead program. In addition to the Read & Bead program, the WWF Animal Adoption Raffle, sponsored by the Friends of the Ames Free Library, is returning for 2024!
Teens ages 13 through 18 can read to earn raffle tickets for great prizes!
Summer reading is never just for kids! Adults can join in and earn raffle tickets for gift cards donated by some great community partners and local businesses.
Fun for the Whole Family!
But wait, there's more! Summer at the library isn't just about reading (although that's definitely a highlight). There are some epic events, too. Picture this: spending a Thursday evening in the Queset Garden with your family enjoying concerts for music lovers of all ages. And our Family Garden shows are back on Monday nights with music, magic, and fun for the whole family. Our event calendar has information on all of these performances and more happening at the library. Tip: sign up for our weekly and monthly newsletters to get information on upcoming programs delivered right to your inbox.
