The library catalog is getting an update! From April 17 - April 21, some behind the scenes magic will take place to improve the functionality and display of the library’s catalog.
During the update, some catalog functions you’re used to will not be available. Check out the lists below and be sure to keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more information from April 17 - April 21.
On Monday, April 17, the system will be completely down to facilitate the first part of the update. This means that the library catalog, the SAILS Mobile app, Overdrive, etc. will be unavailable during that time. This is not anticipated to take the whole day, but you can check for updates from SAILS. The system will be completely down again beginning at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, April 19 through the morning on Thursday, April 20.
Aside from the downtimes noted above, here’s what to expect while the rest of the update is completed:
What you CAN do during the update:
-
Search the library catalog for items held at AFL, within the SAILS network, or in our digital collections
-
Stop by the library to check out or return items
-
Check out digital items using the Libby app, Hoopla, or Kanopy
-
Log into your account in Enterprise to place holds, pay fines, or check due dates
-
Call, email, or stop by the library to request items be placed on hold, if you prefer
-
Reserve museum passes
What you CAN’T do during the update:
-
Sign up for a library card or update information in your account
-
Search for or request items through the Commonwealth Catalog
During this transition period no items will fall due and no holds will expire.
Please note that some of the tools staff use will also have limited functionality during this time. Your patience as we navigate a few workarounds is much appreciated!
