Noveling November

This yearly challenge to write a 50,000-word novel over the course of November started in 1999 and gained popularity through the NaNoWriMo non-profit and website. Due to recent changes within the organization, some writers are choosing to undertake this year's challenge with smaller organizations like Novel Quest or Novlr.

You can also use the ReadSquared program we've created at the Ames Free Library to track your writing progress and receive inspiration and encouragement from your friendly neighborhood librarians!

Looking for some community as you write? Swing by Queset House for our thrice-weekly Queset Write-Ins on Mondays from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, Thursdays from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, and Saturdays from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.

Don't forget about our regular monthly writing programs! Teens are invited to stop by Teen Writers on Thursday, November 21 at 3:15 PM in the Teen Den. Teens and adults, stop by Queset House at 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 21 for Fireside Tales & Poetry.
