Not sure what to do with the old children's Halloween costumes haunting your house? This year, the Ames Free Library is collecting new or gently used Halloween costumes for infants through kids of all ages for our first costume swap!
Donations will be accepted from Monday, September 16 through Wednesday, October 30 in the Children's Room between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
All costumes will be evaluated by a staff member before they are accepted to our Little Free Costume Closet, which will be located in Queset House from Monday, October 7 through Saturday, November 2 from 1:00 PM until closing time. If mornings work better for your schedule, visit Quest House during one of our post-storytime specials on 10/15, 10/16, and 10/17 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
You are not required to donate in order to take a costume, we simply ask that you only take what you need for this year’s Halloween costume.
The Little Free Costume Closet operates on a first-come, first-served basis and we will not be setting things aside for anyone.
NOTE: We will NOT be accepting old clothes, pajamas, anything dirty or stained, or dance costumes.
