Summer Reading Kick-Off Party!

Kids play with hula hoops in the sunshine.

You're invited to our Summer Reading Kick-Off Party!

The fun starts with an unforgettable workshop of hula-hooping magic! Watch a thrilling demonstration by your instructor, Kat Suwalski. Then, learn to hoop through joy-inducing movement explorations. No prior hooping experience is required. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle and an open mind. Kat will be hosting two back-to-back hour-long sessions. Arrive at 2:00 PM to participate in the first round or 3:00 PM to join the second group. Drop-ins are also welcome.

While you're here, enjoy Giant Lawn Games, sidewalk chalk, and millions of bubbles (cranked out by a professional-grade bubble machine). Be sure to visit your friendly librarians who can help you sign-up for Read! Renew! Repeat! (our online reading program). Track your reading this summer to win cool prizes!

Outdoor games will be available through 4:00 PM.

In the event of inclement weather, the workshop will be held next-door at Oakes Ames Hall at 3 Barrows Street.

Hula Hoop for Happiness is brought to you with support by the Bluestone Bank Charitable Foundation.
