A Garden of Eastonly Delights: Traveling through Time in Queset Garden

Queset Garden

We will explore how the original garden was designed and how it was used, then see its renaissance through the heroic efforts of our Easton townspeople. Challenges of climate change, aging and invasive plants and pests have made for a lively experience.

Kris Atkinson is the program manager for Massachusetts Master Gardeners project site of the Queset House Italianate Garden. After retiring from a career in biotech research and medical patent law, Kris and Walter moved to South Easton two years ago, which fulfilled their search for a beautiful, historic small town. Gardener connections led to Queset's remarkable restoration of Winthrop Ames' vision of a formal European-style giardino segreto. MMGA volunteers began their work at the garden in the fall of 2022.
