- Ames Free Library Museum Passes are for valid cardholders in the SAILS library network
- Only adult patrons 18 and over may reserve a pass; a child’s library card cannot be used to book a pass
- Cards must be active and may not be blocked; fines must be below $10 before a pass can be borrowed
- Passes may be booked up to 30 days in advance
- Patrons may have one reservation per day and up to two reservations within a 30-day period
- Patrons may not have two reservations in the system for the same location
- Circulating passes may be picked up at the library either the day before or the day of the museum visit, check our hours of operation to be sure we are open
- The library card used to make the reservation must be presented in order to pick up a circulating pass
- Before making a reservation, click on “pass benefits” for information about the museum; “loan instructions” will appear after booking, detailing how to use the pass
- Refer to the museum’s website for up-to-date information when planning your visit, as hours are subject to change and prices may vary according to day, location or time
- Museums may require advanced registration after obtaining a code or coupon from the library; some locations may have restricted capacity
- Circulating passes should be placed inside the plastic case it came in before returning in the media drop
- A fine of $5 per day is charged for late passes
- If a pass is lost, the fee to replace it must be paid by the patron
- If you have a change of plans and no longer need the pass, please cancel your reservation and make it available to other patrons.
