Eclipse Party
Easton will be able to see approximately 91% coverage of the sun during the upcoming total eclipse. Queset Garden provides a perfect platform for viewing it! Join us ahead of peak eclipse coverage to play solar-themed lawn games, word games, and participate in kids’ activities. You can even contribute to some citizen science* for NASA! Learn more about the cosmos with a short informational video at Queset House; drop in any time, as it repeats every 7 minutes. Feel free to bring your own blankets or lawn chairs. There is something for all ages!
Eclipse glasses will be available to the first 150 people. Distribution will start at 1:30 PM in Queset Garden. Always wear solar safe eyewear while viewing the eclipse or looking toward the sun!
This event opens at 1:30 PM. Activities will be available from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM. A partial eclipse will be visible starting around 2:20 PM, with totality peaking between 3:20 PM and 3:30 PM. All traces of the partial eclipse will be over around 4:15 PM. Participants are welcome to stay in the Garden after activities are over to watch the final glimpses of the eclipse. Note: all times are approximate and based on NASA modeling.
Restrooms are available in the library and Queset House. Please remember that parking at the library and Queset House is limited. There is no parking outside of designated spots. Parking may be available at the Rockery and the municipal lot behind The Children’s Museum in Easton. Plan accordingly so you have time to walk to the library if necessary.
In the case of inclement weather, glasses will be available and the video will be looped at Queset House, but all outdoor activities will be canceled.
