On the Wall: 2009: Before & After
Once upon a time, a very Very VERY short while ago, there was a very Very VERY different reality in place at the campus of the Ames Free Library. The parking lot did not exist. The garden was a ruin overrun by fallen trees and poison ivy. The historic library was crammed into one level. Check out the April photo exhibit to remember the time before 2009!
In the Glass Case: Just for the Love of it, the pottery Dr. Mei-Li Shih Milonni
After retiring as a theoretical physicist 15 years ago, Dr. Mei-Li Shih Milonni now finds beauty and expression in pottery and Chinese calligraphy. She often incorporates Chinese characters and poetry, both traditional verses and her own, to enrich her pieces. Among other accolades, Mei-Li received the “Best of Show” award at the 2015 Celebration of Clay Exhibition of the New Mexico Pottery and Clay Artists. She currently divides her time between Los Alamos, New Mexico and Taipei, Taiwan, and has enjoyed exploring new techniques at the Ceramics Program of the Office for the Arts at Harvard.
