Kids Summer Library Program 2018

Are you ready to read? Check for your school below to find your summer reading information. Be sure to visit us at the Library to sign up for the 2018 Summer Library Program, so you can "Read and Bead" an awesome necklace or keychain!

6th-8th Graders at Easton Middle School

All students entering grades 6-8 are participating in the “One School, One Book” summer reading initiative, and will be reading Restart by Gordon Korman. Click here for more information, then visit our catalog to place your hold!

3rd-5th Graders at Richardson Olmsted Elementary

Read at least TWO books of YOUR choice! (If you’re stumped for ideas, ask Miss Jess in Youth Services for suggestions.) Then throughout the summer, use your Google Classroom site to post at least FOUR comments about your reading. These must be 3-8 sentences long, using your best writing. In your first comment, introduce yourself and tell everyone what you are reading. Make sure you read your classmates’ comments to see what they are reading too. If you are not sure what kind of comments to make, RO has provided these ideas. Before starting, be sure to read Mr. Getchell’s Welcome Letter and watch Ms. Somers’ welcome video.

Kindergarten through 2nd Graders

Center School Elementary, Moreau Hall Elementary, and Parkview Elementary do not have any specific required reading for this summer, but you are encouraged to read, read, READ! Join the library's Read and Bead program to earn beads while you track time spent reading. Come in to the Youth Services department to find out more!
