Wings: Birds, Butterflies, and Dragonflies of Early Summer

Join naturalist and AFL staff member, Lorraine Rubinacci, on a walk around the library campus to observe the winged creatures of early summer.  We will focus on the songs and behaviors of the library's most common birds as well as the insects who visit Queset Garden to feed on nectar . . . or to hunt. This will be a group effort to notice and share the heightened activity of the season.

Lorraine is a committed and experienced teacher naturalist who has worked with all ages. Free and open to all. Binoculars recommended; curiosity essential!

While preregistration is not required, the walk will be more fun if each participant learns one bird song in advance. Email, lrubinacci@amesfreelibrary.org to receive a link to a bird song on Cornell's "All About Birds" website.
