One Book, One Town is a community-wide program organized by Raising Multicultural Kids, the Human Rights Committee, Easton Public Schools, Ames Free Library, and Houses of Worship. Together we will be reading, listening, and sharing our own stories. Listening Is An Act Of Love isn't only the book that we have chosen for our community read; it is our hope that members of our community will truly take this to heart and "listen" to each others' stories no matter who we are or where we come from. Everyone's life has value, meaning, and purpose - so let's open our hearts and minds to each other AND with each other.
In the spirit of listening to our neighbors and friends, audio recording equipment will be available at the event. Tell your story about living in Easton and interacting with our community. Stories will also be kept on file as part of the library's 300 Years, 300 Stories initiative.
