Fall String Class

Harris Shilakowsky, Violinist, Music Educator & owner of will be teaching a hands-on class on playing bowed string instruments: violin, viola & cello. This is for beginners of any age. 3rd & 4th graders and their parents get a head start learning musical skills needed in school next semester.
We’ll explore the "care and feeding" of your string instrument
• We’ll discuss choosing an instrument if there are people who haven’t yet gotten one.
• How to sit/stand & hold the instrument, tune up, identify the parts of the instrument, and
play some easy songs.
• Bring your questions to ask "the professor."
• If we have enough musicians there, we will break off into small groups to work songs!
Get to know your string-playing neighbors!
Advanced classes will be held later in the year.
