"Where the Community Connects"

Understanding Autism with Cindy Kolesinskas

April is National Awareness Month. Given that about 1 in 59 children are on the autism spectrum disorder with boys four times more likely to be diagnosed, all of us need to be on the awareness spectrum.

“Understanding Autism: What people on the spectrum would like the community to know” is just such a presentation. Recognizing it, being sensitive to it and utilizing tools to interact with those with autism are some of the valuable lessons to be learned from this timely presentation.

Free and open to all.

Cindy Kolesinskas has a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and completed an internship at Boston’s Children’s Hospital. Currently, she coordinates psychology outreach services for the Department of Developmental Services in the Southeast Area. She has worked in the behavioral health field for over 35 years and has had the privilege of working with hundreds of children and adults on the autism spectrum.
