From February 1st through March 15th, 2023, the Boston Bruins, Cradles to Crayons, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and Wonderfund came together for the 16th annual Pajama Drive. Every year, the drive collects donations of new pajamas for children living in low-income and homeless situations. It aims to ensure that all children in Massachusetts can get a warm night’s sleep so that they are rested for the day ahead of them. The goal for 2023 was 10,000 pairs of PJs.
As of March 24th, Cradles to Crayons reported that this year’s drive collected 9,302 pairs of PJs. And, thanks to generous support from across the Commonwealth, they’re still counting! The Ames Free Library community donated 85 pairs of PJs this year with designs ranging from bold popular cartoon characters to soothing quilted bunny onesies!
On Monday, February 27, the Ames Free Library staff wore our PJs to work to raise awareness for the drive and had a mini photoshoot with some of the lovely PJs you donated.
Thank you for your donations and for helping us work toward ending clothing insecurity.
