Program Updates: Fall Festivities Photo Contests

Many of us are still deciding what Halloween might look like for our families this year, but one thing never changes: kids love to dress up! Without the multitude of parties, parades, and celebrations this year, we want to give your kids a place to show off their costumes.

This October, our Fall Festivities Photo Contest is a place to share your kids in their Halloween finery (or ferocity!). This is fun for the whole family, so there are three age groups for the costume contest; kids (0-12 years old), teens (13-18 years old), and adults (19 years and up). There are also categories for decorated pumpkins (painted or carved) and home décor. Learn more about the program and submit photos here from October 1 through October 25. Submissions will be posted to the AFL website and may also be shared on our social media platforms.

Starting on October 26, the community will be voting online for their favorite entry from each category! (You can vote for any pumpkin or décor, but must vote in your age category to vote for best costume.) Winners for each costume age group will win a $10 gift card to Hilliard’s (for more Halloween candy!), and winners of the pumpkin and décor categories will each receive a $25 gift card to Langwater Farm.

This is an all-ages, community wide program. Please keep your costume and designs family friendly!

This is not a photography contest; the subject of the photo is more important than the artistry of the shot.
