1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Are you working on 1000 Books Before Kindergarten? Keep going! This program is still running even if the library is closed, and you can count absolutely everything anyone read with your child – even ebooks!

New to the 1000 Books program? Click here to find out more. The idea is to read 1000 books with your child before they start Kindergarten. Sound impossible? It’s not! If you share just one book each day with your child, you’ll get there in less than three years. Have an older child who will be in Kindergarten in less than three years? Reading three books a day gets you there in just one year! (Check out tomorrow’s blog post for tips on sharing books with very young children!)

We started this program just over a year ago, and two readers have finished already. You can do it, too! Start tracking today with your baby, toddler, or preschooler.
