Circulation Policies
- Adults may apply for a library card with a valid I.D. showing their current address
(driver's license preferred).
- Children under the age of 14 may apply for a card if the child
is able to legibly write or print his or her own name on the
card. There is no minimum age limit, but we encourage children
to practice their signature before registering. The staff person
on duty reserves the right to determine whether the child's
handwriting is legible enough to be issued a card. The check-out
limit on a child's card is 4 books and one video.
- The library card MUST be present for any action to be taken on a library borrower's
record (check-outs, renewals, placing or picking up reserved material). A driver's
license may be used for I.D. in place of a library card only once. The card must be
replaced if it cannot be located a second time. The fee for card replacement is one
dollar.
- Every library borrower must check out material on his or her own card.
- Maximum video check-out on an Adult card at one time is three items. Video sets may
be checked out all at once if the library borrower's account is in good standing.
Borrowers will be limited to three audio book sets per check-out as well.
- Five dollars or more owed on a library borrower's record, or any lost material not
paid for or returned, will prevent any further check-outs for that borrower.
- Borrowers will be limited (primarily in the Youth Services Area) to three
non-fiction books on a subject, largely during the school year. This is to keep
material available for a greater number of students working on school projects.
