What
are these digital services?
OverDrive
is an online service allowing you to download audio book titles or music
to your personal computer. These files are encoded with Digital Rights
Management (DRM) software, so checkouts & recording options are
controlled by the OverDrive Media Console software.
What
are the Rules?
- If
you are blocked from checking out items from a SAILS library, you
will be blocked from checking out digital titles.

You can check out 6 titles at a time and have 1 title on hold.

The loan period is 14 days. All titles check in automatically
Titles will stay on hold for a you for 72 hours.

You can have up to 2 items in your shopping cart at a time
-
Titles will remain in a cart for 30 minutes

Titles may not be renewed

OverDrive audio books need to be returned by OverDrive and requested
via a form on the SAILS site at:
http://sailsinc.org/dlrreturn.asp
Who
is the Service for?
The OverDrive service is for you if you may do one or more of the following:

listen to audio books
-
have an MP3 player
-
have an Internet connection
-
read books on a pc or handheld
-
listen to books on a pc
How
is it Used?

Download & Install the OverDrive
Media Console software & make sure you have the newest version
of Windows Media Player installed.

Find the eAudio title you want to download.

Put the title in your cart.
-
Log in with your SAILS library card number & PIN.
-
Check out the title.
-
Download the title.
-
Download the parts to your PC.
*Note: eAudio titles only work with Microsoft Windows.

Guide
This
service does not work with iPods. The Digital Rights Management software
Apple uses is not compatible with WMA, which is what the publishers
are using for file protection for the OverDrive titles.
